Description

The Department of Automobile Engineering, UVPCE-GUNI organized a webinar entitled Indian Automotive Regulations Roadmap and Upcoming Powertrain Technology”. The session was delivered by Mr. Mandeep Dulat Product Planning Department, KIA Motors India, Gurgaon. Mr. Mandeep has worked in the automotive industry for around 8 years including 2 years with Ashok Leyland, 4 years with Tata Motors, 2 years with JBM Group and associated with Kia Motors India since last 2 years. Mr. Mandeep has a rich experience working with JBM Solaris electric vehicles Pvt. Ltd. on electric bus development. Mr. Mandeep Dulat has hands on experience of HV battery, traction motor, inverter, generator, software flashing and diagnosing, CAN communication J1939, OBD J1962, WH and circuit design, testing of HV components, fuel cell system, etc. during his tenure at Tata Motors.

The said technical session was conducted online via Google Meet App. The entire session was coordinated by Automobile Engineering Department. Total 131 students registered for the webinar out of which 114 participants (from GUNI and outside GUNI) including students, faculty members, research scholars and industry professionals from Gujarat and 6 other states of India attended this webinar. During his talk, Mr. Mandeep had briefly explained about policies and regulations roadmap of India, emphasizing on the upcoming powertrain technologies that includes mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid, electric drivetrain and fuel cell technology. Many questions were asked by attendees and all the questions were briefly and satisfactorily answered by him. On the whole, the session was very informative and thought provoking and all the attendees found it highly useful.
