Petrochemical Engineering

Petrochemical Engineering is an undergraduate course. This is a four years course divided into eight semesters, covers the detailed idea of petrochemicals and how they are made. The field of petrochemical engineering comprises of both theoretical and practical applications that include a variety of petrochemical manufacturing processes. The engineering principles used to extract petroleum products and associated by-products are the focus of the course. Petrochemical engineering is the field of engineering science that involves mainly refinery, downstream and midstream operations in oil and gas industry. The production of different compounds from crude oil, coal, and natural gas is studied by petrochemical engineers. Petrochemical engineering gives engineers the ability to create and run petrochemical plants and enhance production processes. The graduates from this course are offered positions in both the governmental and private sectors. The students, however, have a lot of employment options in the mechanical, chemical, and petroleum industries, among others. The carefully crafted curriculum offers sufficient background information on petrochemicals and the many technologies that petrochemical engineers can use to improve petrochemical output. The course includes subjects like Reaction Engineering, Heat Transfer, Mass Transfer, Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics, that are bridged with special subjects like Petrochemical Processes, Refinery operations with due weight-age on Numerical Computation Process Control, Modeling- Simulation & Design.
