Associate Executive Dean, Maritime Studies
Prof G K Tejra has been associated with the Deptt of Maritime Studies right from its inception, since 2011. He joined as Head of Deptt and today is serving as Associate Executive Dean - Marine.
He is a Graduate Mechanical Engineer from GEC - REWA ( MP ), 1991 batch . He got selected in Scindia Steam Navigation Ltd, the pioneer shipping company of India. Then he did his Marine Engineering apprenticeship with Hindustan Shipyard Ltd - Visakhapatnam and became a Marine Engineer . Later on he sailed on foreign going ships in different capacities till 2003 fo a period of 9 years .He sailed across the world and covered all the continents and oceans of the world.
During this period he is awarded with shipping licenses of international recognition , commonly known as Certificate of Competency ( COC) as Marine Engineer Officer ( MEO ) Class IV , MEO CL II and MEO CL I . Thus he rose utpo the highest COC on board a ship.
