Minor/Hons. (Specialization)

Standard operating procedure and guidelines to earn Minor/Hons. (Specialization) along with B.Tech Major Degree

Students of Undergraduate degree in Engineering of Ganpat University have unique opportunities to pursue Minor/Hons. (specialization) along with the Major degree (B.Tech). Students wishing to have Minor/Hons. (specialization) need to earn additional 15 to 20 credits in the offered domains. A student can choose Minor/Hons. (specialization) starting from the fourth semester onwards.

Eligibility: No pending backlog in all previous semesters (based on declared results).

Guidelines to earn Minor and Hons. (specialization) under Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FoET), Ganpat University

• In line with NEP, and to support advanced learners and other interested students, FoET offers Minor/Hons. (specialization) to all existing students. One Course in each semester for the said Minor/Hons. (specialization) is offered from semester IV to semester VII/VIII. • The Minor/Hons. (specialization) will be offered to interested students on payment of Registration/Examination fees of Rs. 800 per credit for each course in the respective semester. The registration/examination fees of the Minor/Hons. (specialization) is to be paid at the time of registration for each course.
• Students who will take Minor/Hons. (specialization) over and above the regular curriculum, they will have to study additional courses, which will be offered for respective Minor/Hons. (specialization) during morning/evening (on working days) time and Saturday, Sunday.
• Teaching and Examination Scheme, Evaluation Scheme, Passing Standard, Grading System, Attendance and other relevant matters are concerned, Academic Regulation of the University will be made applicable if not mentioned in these guidelines.
• Earned grade along with credit for each course of particular Minor/Hons. (specialization) is displayed on the marksheet of students in the respective semesters.
• This reflected grade of the course, must not be counted in SGPA and CGPA, but must be reflected in the transcript.
• In case, the student fails in the offered course, it will not be reflected in the marksheet and transcript, and Minor/Hons. (Specialization) will be discontinued from that semester and not eligible to register for the next semester's offered course. 
• At the end of the programme, on successful completion of Minor/Hons requirements, students need to be awarded a separate Minor/Hons. (Specialization) certificate.
• The transcript will display all passed courses along with the grades awarded.

Minor/ Hons. (Specialization) is an option rather than a requirement for B. Tech students. They may opt for one of the below mentioned Minor/ Hons. (Specialization), with earning of additional credits.

* For any other Major Disciplines which is not mentioned, it may be offered as Minor Degree.
