Electronics & Communication

The Department of Electronics & Communication (EC) was formed in 1998 to meet the engineering requirements of manpower in the emerging fields of Communication & Electronics. The course curriculum has been so designed as to meet the industrial needs. The Department has well equipped laboratories with the required software & hardware.

The faculty members are highly qualified and dedicated to nurture  the students in every aspect. All faculty members of EC department have M.E./M.Tech. degrees and among them 3 faculty members have completed Ph.D. and 4 faculty members are pursuing Ph.D. in different areas. In addition to program specific knowledge, the faculties prepare the  students for placements and higher studies also.

The students are sent for project work in renowned Industries / Organizations like Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Institute of Plasma Research (IPR), Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Sibridge Technology, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), e-Infochips, BSNL, Reliance communications, Tata Nano etc. Besides study, EC students frequently participate in various events at National level Technical competitions and also win several prizes. Industrial visits are organized frequently to keep the students updated with current trends in the industry.

Electronics and communication is a vast field under which there are lots of opportunities for the students. Students will have chance to prove  themselves competent for the booming semiconductor market. Government of India and Gujarat are focusing deeply on semiconductor ecosystem set up. The new Electronics policy is going to create countless future opportunities for the students. There are  multiple areas where EC engineer can make career such as wireless networks, satellite communication, optical fiber communication, internet protocols, manufacturing and testing of electronic devices, circuits, and systems, digital signal processing, data compression, encryption, data storage technologies,5G Technology, industrial automation, robotics, smart homes, and smart cities and many more. ECE drives research and development in various interdisciplinary areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, internet of things (IoT), and quantum computing, paving the way for future technological advancements and innovations.
