The IEEE Ganpat University Student Branch (GUNI SB) received official recognition from IEEE Headquarters on 27th December 2004, under the guidance of founder branch counselor Dr. H. K. Patel and founder branch chair Mohit Malhan. Since its inception, the branch has grown steadily, organizing National Level Technical Symposiums and other events under the guidance of IEEE Gujarat Section.

Starting with only 19 members, the branch now has 50+ active members and continues to expand every year. The branch promotes technical  excellence, intellectual growth, and creative pursuits. Following IEEE’s motto, “For the students, by the students”, it provides students with opportunities to develop knowledge, managerial skills, presentation experience, and networking capabilities essential for their engineering careers.

Let’s see a leader’s journey: Tirth Patel began in 2023 as a dedicated student volunteer with IEEE Ganpat University Student Branch (GUNI SB), making a significant impact in branch activities and student engagement. In 2024, he was appointed Vice Chair for the first six months, successfully enrolling over 100 IEEE members in a single month, a historic first for Ganpat University. Later promoted to Chairperson, he led the branch to organize 20 events in one year and earned the Best IEEE Membership Development Award from IEEE Gujarat Section in 2024.

In 2025, under Tirth Patel’s leadership, IEEE Ganpat University Student Branch achieved historic milestones. The branch received the first-ever Women in Engineering Outstanding Student Branch Award in Ganpat University history. Tirth Patel became the first student from the university selected as a Student Section Representative (SSR) at IEEE Gujarat Section and was appointed Vice Chair of SSR, as well as a member of the SCR Signal Processing Chapter both first-time appointments from Ganpat University. He contributed significantly to social media and digital content, helping IEEE Gujarat Section secure the R10 Regional Branding Champion Award (3 Bronze). Additionally, he served as the Founding Chair of the IEEE SPS Ganpat University Student Branch (July–August 2025), establishing the chapter to foster student growth and innovation.

In 2026, Tirth Patel is serving as the Chief Advisor of IEEE Ganpat University Student Branch (GUNI SB). At just 24 years old, he was appointed Digital Content Chair, becoming one of the youngest leaders in IEEE Gujarat Section and continuing his impactful contributions to the IEEE community.

Under Tirth Patel’s leadership from 2023 to 2026, IEEE GUNI SB has become one of the fastest-growing and most impactful student branches in IEEE Gujarat Section. Tirth firmly believes that a student should first be a leader, not a follower, and his philosophy has guided every initiative. From 2024 to 2025, under his guidance, the branch added 250 new IEEE members and successfully organized over 47+ events spanning technical, non-technical, social, and core IEEE activities designed to develop students’ skills and prepare them for industry. The branch also received the Women in Engineering Outstanding Student Branch Award, a historic first for Ganpat University. Tirth often emphasizes that his team in 2024–2025 was the backbone of the branch, and his trust in their dedication has been the driving power behind the growth and success of IEEE GUNI SB.
