General Information
Prof. Jay Gohel is a dedicated academic and researcher, currently pursuing my PhD at SVNIT. My research focuses on innovative solutions for seismic response mitigation of structures using shape memory alloy (SMA) passive dampers. He has presented a novel SMA wire damper configuration designed for ease of installation and effectiveness in reducing seismic impacts. The findings from this research demonstrate significant enhancements in seismic resilience, showcasing the potential of SMA-based solutions in modern structural engineering. Before embarking on my doctoral journey, he served as an assistant professor at RK University. During his tenure, he guided several B.Tech and M.Tech students on their research projects, helping them explore innovative ideas and practical applications in engineering. In addition to my academic roles, He has hands-on experience assisting in structural design consultancy projects at SVNIT. Proficient in numerical modeling and computational tools like MATLAB and Python, he brings a data-driven approach to solving complex engineering challenges. His broader interests extend to interdisciplinary applications, including smart automation systems and structural health monitoring. He is passionate about advancing research that bridges innovative materials and structural resilience while contributing to the academic and professional growth of future engineers.
